beach access point) and it is also free of shadows
throughout the day (town law does not allow for buildings
over 4 stories tall so you don't have to worry about large
condo buildings ruining the picturesque beach atmosphere.
Unlike almost everywhere else in South Florida the
atmosphere in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is peaceful and relaxing
as a result of this underdevelopment of the beach area.
Fishing:
Anglers of all ages enjoy the great
fishing available in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea from docks and
seawalls or right from the shoreline. You can catch Snapper,
Tarpon, Grouper, bonefish and many others from the dock or
shore. For deep-sea anglers, there are charter boats
that travel as far as 20 miles out into the Atlantic Ocean.
Charter and drift fishing boats sail almost daily to natural
reefs where the ocean is alive with Sailfish, Tuna Wahoo,
and Grouper. Cobia are abundant in winter and King Mackerel
in the spring and fall. You may hook into the Bluefish and
Amberjack in April and Blackfin Tuna and Bonita in May. The
best tine to catch a swordfish is at night. West of
Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, look for black bass largemouth bass,
perch, and other freshwater fish in the Loxahatchee
Recreation Area.
Scuba
Diving/Snorkeling: South Florida
offers some great scuba diving and the diving immediately
off on the Lauderdale-By-The-Sea pier is one of the most
accessible diving areas in South Florida and offers abundant
sea life including turtles, nurse sharks, small eels, squid,
grouper, parrot fish and other exotic reef fish & more.
Parasailing, Jet ski rentals:
Available within walking distance of Paradise By The Sea

Golf:
Some of the best Golf courses in South Florida are
